This school has not employed career teachers that are suitable for the preschool/kindergarten grade level. I foresee some issues with staff that are not career teachers needing to make drastic changes in terms of understanding teacher professionalism, administrative duties, proper evaluation techniques and a sense of pride in the reality of the nature of the profession.
It is common practice to hire non-career teachers in S. Korea to pursue high English language achievement goals nationwide. While that may be alright for the average prep school, it does prove a challenge in a preschool-kindergarten setting. My challenge will be motivating these teachers to want to learn more about education and being an educator; understanding early childhood development and increasing their knowledge on school specific pedagogy. This is in the event that I'm unable to hire at least somewhat qualified teachers.
Research shows that student that are enrolled in immersion programs outperform their peers in reading on state examinations. They also move further away from the "English Learner" classification as their native tongue begins to match the foreign language. (Steele et al., 2015)
Here in S. Korea, the education system highly prioritizes state examinations. Students in our school can get a head start on their English requirements and boost other areas of their academics at the same time.
Immersion techniques surround the learner in opportunities for natural interaction with language. We stress the importance of this method for using English as a form of communication, a 21st Century skill. (Prudnikova, 2018)

By using the ESL level distinctions from the National Reporting System (NRS), I was able to create a spreadsheet for teachers to track student achievement throughout the year on a quarterly basis.
