At one academy I worked in, classes simply ordered materials whenever they had an idea of a lesson they wanted to do. However, there was no set method for the use of said materials stored in a shared room of resources. As a result, the teacher that ordered specific materials would not necessarily be able to use them, since other teachers could freely go into the shared resources room without a report of what they are using, the amount or even why.
As a small institution, we lacked financial resources to have various departments and certain technological equipment to streamline this process. It will probably be quite challenging to implement a system that is merely basic enough to track the materials, yet tedious in terms of training staff to input information correctly since I cannot see a method outside of using the Google Workspace that my school paid for to create an advanced budgeting/tracking spreadsheet.
This form was created after hearing teacher complaints about the lack of ability to write out all of their concerns within the ACA2000. It's possible that it was simply difficult for foreign teacher to navigate. However, in addition to this, management was not obtaining specific feedback on particular student issues, curriculum feasibility, etc.
I was given the green light to create a form for all teachers that could prompt them to add some context to their daily reports.
Isn't it better to see the frequency of negative issues or moments of success? I surely believe so. This tool can be used to keep track of student behavior, teacher attempts at rectification and even the outcomes of curriculum adjustments.
It is quite difficult to take on a management role while also needing to be in the classroom. Since we used Google workspace already I thought it would be better to use the forms application as much as possible. So I created a hiring form, a time off request form as well as a student enrollment form and a few more things just to streamline the process a little bit. I'm happy with the results.
I thought it would be better to order materials through management instead of at-will. We never really had a budget set, so teachers would be spending a lot more than expected at various times of the year.
When I'm able to be in a certain position, I'd like to work with someone who does our accounting and coordinate a good strategy for teachers getting materials that are necessary for their classes and being able to reject things that would put the school in financial binds.
